Ben's birthday joy

We spent a wonderful weekend in San Diego continuing the bash for Ben's third birthday. He first had a party on Friday at school, complete with cupcakes and cheese and crackers and apples, which is what he requested. Saturday brought a birthday luncheon at D.Z. Akins Deli (we highly recommend it if you visit San Diego) with Uncle Cory, Grandpa Steve, Nana Marcia and the carrot cake that Ben selected. Noise blowers hastily purchased at the CVS drugstore along with the candle were worth about 15 minutes of laughter.

Then it was on to the football game, to watch Uncle Nick play. They lost to BYU, but put up a great fight! Who knew if I wore my glasses to the game I'd actually know what was going on?

We went out to dinner after the game, and Ben had another birthday ice cream (vanilla of course) with a candle. The kids did great, and they are getting much easier to travel with. Look at the excitement on Ben's face- he couldn't believe the birthday stuff kept coming!
