Conversation overheard at the Oakland zoo:

Scene: a multigenerational Latino family is discussing the flamingos...

Father: Did you know that the flamingos are pink because they eat shrimp?

Family: Oh, wow

Father: Do you think that if we ate shrimp we'd turn pink too?

Kids: (laughing) Noooo

Father: Maybe that's why White people are so pink- from eating lots of shrimp
