There goes the neighborhood

Just when I think the neighborhood is looking up, new renters move in down the block. They seem to have an affinity for statues of the Virgin Mary, Things in Twos, Scarecrows, and oh, yeah, America. I went to Ben's preschool open house today. Too bad it took place yesterday. Then I went and bought a planner. With two kids in different schools, my poor wall calendar has finally had enough and my memory clearly has been exceeded. I went to a PTA meeting tonight, and Martin went to our neighbor/friend Dave's house with his buddies for their Fantasy Football draft. We found a great babysitter who lives literally across the street and only charges $10/hour for two kids! She is 15, the kids love her, and she has two little brothers so she is great with little boys. We are looking forward to many nights leaving Jeanett (pronounced, Janet) and finally getting some time for ourselve . TGIF- I am ready for the weekend. School everyday is hard, and I'm not even going!

Great blog, erika - looks like you're having fun doing it - speaks to a lot of women raising kids in a sometimes "difficult" and "confusing" world - love the day to day personal anecdotes.....good luck with continuing it.... love , patti
